How to play: Numbers
Six numbers and a target. Four operations to get there.
- You get six numbers and a three-digit target. You have to reach the target by combining them.
- Tap a number, tap an operation and tap another number: the result stays on the table as one more number, and the two you used are removed.
- Each number can be used only once, and you don’t have to use them all.
- Everything along the way must be a whole number greater than zero: no decimals and no subtractions that give zero or a negative.
- If you tap the wrong thing, undo takes back the last operation.
Frequently asked questions
- Can the exact number always be reached?
- Yes. The target is not drawn at random and checked afterwards: it comes from working out everything those six numbers can make, so there is certainly a solution. And if you give up, we show it to you.
- Does this one change every day?
- No. Play it whenever you like, as many times as you want; what is saved is your best streak of rounds in a row, not a daily streak.
- Why won’t it let me multiply by one?
- Because it doesn’t change the number and only serves to spend a tile. Same with dividing by one. The rest of the four operations are fine, as long as the result is a positive whole number.
- Where do the six numbers come from?
- As in the classic game: up to two big ones (25, 50, 75 or 100) and the rest small ones from 1 to 10, which can repeat.
